Creating Sacred Space – Planting Prayers – Teacher Inspirations
October 18th, 2016
The joy of leading and teaching spiritual art workshops is mainly seeing the opening up and blossoming of each participant’s creative expression. This was especially true in August in North Carolina at Kanuga during the Faith, Art & Creative Expression workshop that I taught with Kelly Larson. It was titled Creating Sacred Space In the Garden – Planting Prayers. We spent time outdoors finding a Sacred Space, but also inside creating.

There is also joy in the opening up and blossoming of my own and Kelly’s creative expression. We all, participants and teachers, created prayers, poems and deep thoughts that were expressed with images and words. Each piece is unique and meaningful. Sometimes it was a poem of our own writing and sometimes by others.
We wrote words of prayer, inspiration and personal deep truth with a white pen or crayon on white paper. With those words as the foundation and energy we created more images and words in origami books.

I also created a book from white on white as the first step

A morning and evening book of prayer by Kelly. Her words and Master Eckhart.
A prayer book of my mother was the outside of personal prayers and thoughts that I created.
These treasures of what I call spiritual art, where connection and communication between Creator and us, are the kind of art that nourished our souls in the week long Faith, Art and Creative Expression workshop we were so lucky to share.
ENJOY & CREATE
