I am sorry for sending a housekeeping blog to all my subscribers, instead of beautiful photos and mandalas.

If you subscribe to my blog, you get an email notification when a new blog is put online. The email has the blog embedded in it and a link to the entire blog website. I am switching my blog email subscription service to one that provides better service than the one I use now.

My reason for doing this behind the scenes switch is the present subscription service has been rumored to possibly disappear any day now.  (Details below). And because I no longer have access to any files that let me know who is a subscriber to my blog, I have no way to contact any of you about this except through this blog. If by chance the present subscription service stops, and you haven’t resubscribed, my blog email new post notifications would stop coming to your email inbox. I would have no way of knowing this happened, nor would you be notified of this.

I would like all subscribers to resubscribe on my blog site.  The posts will come through a different service (examples below). This will guarantee you will keep getting the new blog post emails. (If you have subscribed after February 15th this year -2014, disregard this blog)

STEPS TO RESUBSCRIBE – It’s easy

1) Go to my blog site. Here is the link. You could also google “Creativity For the Soul blog” and find it in the list of websites.

What shows up is the top of my blog, with the name “Creativity For The Soul blog”, rotating photos and different pages to click on. SCROLL DOWN A BIT, and on the right side  under “search”, there is a line that says “subscribe to this newsletter” or “subscribe to this blog” and under that a box that says “email” .  The right hand column is the same on all the pages – homepage, blog, etc., so this shows up always.

2) Type your email into that box and click the box below that, that says subscribe.

3) An email will go to your  inbox of that email address that says “Hello. You’ve subscribed to our site. You need to activate your subscription by clicking on the link below, Thank you. Linda”   Once you click on that link you will then see this notice below.  And that is all you need to subscribe.

4) Unsubscribe from the Google blog email.  In order to stop the emails that you are receiving now from Google, you will need to  unsubscribe from that service,  that way you won’t receive two email links to the blog.  At the bottom of the  Google email, there is a link to unsubscribe.  Click that so you won’t get two emails about the same blog post. If you don’t mind two emails about the same blog, keep both subscriptions.

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO SERVICES.  HERE’S WHAT WILL BE DIFFERENT

1) You will receive emails about the new blog posts much quicker, usually within an hour or two after I put them online. Now it sometimes takes days for you to receive the emails about new posts.

2) The email you receive with each new blog post will look different than the old one. There will be a photo and excerpt from the post.

3) You will have to click on the “read online” link to see the entire post on the main website. Sorry the entire blog post won’t show up in the email and an extra click is required. BUT you will be directed to the main blog page and you can access past posts and other information directly. The photos will be smaller in this format – I wish I could change that.

4)  I will have access to a list of  subscriber emails and in case I need to send some information (like this), I can do that.  As stated above I now have no records of subscribers.

WHY THE CHANGE AND URGENCY

1) This is sort of geek info, so no need to read on.  Let me just state that I am a Google fan, but the subscription service I have been using (Feedburner) is  Google owned and full of problems. Google stopped supporting it years ago, for me that means no support, no way to contact anyone about problems, no access to subscriber lists or site info, etc.  Rumors abound that one day Google will  just  pull the plug and subscribers through their service would  all of a sudden stop receiving blog email notices. I have no way of knowing who would be cut off.

2) I have switched to a new blog email subscription service that is highly recommended. This new email service allows the site to be seen across more devices and with better internet capabilities. I have access to records of subscribers and can get help if needed.

3) I want to be proactive and  ensure everyone gets the blog posts.

EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS OR HELP NEEDED WITH THIS CHANGE.

BACK TO BEAUTY AND CREATIVITY IN THE NEXT BLOG

As I said, sorry for making the change, but you will be keep getting email notifications and links if you resubscribe, they won’t disappear this way.

The next blog will be back to normal.

ENJOY  & CREATE

Linda
