Creating mandalas is a way to delve deep into creativity. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a sense of play and joy.
We shared our creativity honoring the returning light and the time of open hearts. Mandalas #CreativityForTheSoul
Today is January 1, 2018. The first full moon, on the first day. The energy of full moon light amplifies what will go forward into the New Year.
Sacred Circle of Creativity – Sharing. A nurturing safe embracing place where a deep connection with our own personal truths and source is opened and expressed.
It was the weekend of Earth Day. A guided meditation connecting Mother Earth to our creative centers started the evening of our mandala circle.
“Deep in their roots, all flowers keep the light.”
For those new to a month for mandalas – please open this link and read the beginning of blog which explains it all. This is the last in the 4 part series LIGHT.
Once a month I hold a mandala circle at my home art studio. The mandala makers who come to share in this sacred circle of creativity always bring their light of creativity into the world.
Our mandala circle took place the night the world found out about the Orlando shootings. The mandala art created was about finding a way to peace, healing and stopping the hate.
I want the new year to be an inspiration to remember what calls to me from the depths of my soul. Reminders help me listen to what feels right on the deepest level, what brings joy and what stirs to action.
A Month for Mandalas, session two, which ended a few weeks ago, was about connection to nature’s elements. Here are the mandalas honoring and connecting with water.
Loving Fire – A Month For Mandalas. This is the third week of A Month for Mandalas – Session Two – Planting Mandalas, Mindfullness & Prayers – Connection to Creativity & Nature.
“Show up and be real”, part of the theme of Authentic Living, inspired a Mandala Mobile and other Mandalas during a Mandala Circle.
Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be.
This is week five of 100 Days for Mandalas. The theme for the last two weeks is “JOURNEY”. And boy what a journey this mandala took me to
My mandala was inspired by the theme of JOURNEY for this three week session. Walt Whitman’s words bring to mind the fact that each of us is on a journey that only we can make. Although others join us on our journey, it is ours alone.
As I write this , it is almost 24 hours before the winter Solstice at 5:03 pm in St. Louis. When the Solstice takes place the axis of the earth is tilted so the north pole is furthest from the sun. Daylight is shortest for the year on this day. The journey to more light begins after this moment.
I never know how far the reach of my blogs is. I am always surprised and delighted when I hear from other mandala makers and creative folks…
A Month For Mandalas – Week 2 – Remembering the Truth of Your Soul. We all have truths of who we are, who our authentic self is, what gifts we bring to the world are, what passions feed our souls. These truths are always inside of us, at our deep true core. In the quiet, in the flow of creativity these truths whisper to us. Remember them for they are always there.
May my hands touch the earth and heal the earth. May my hands touch others and heal both our hearts. May my hands be healing hands… Hands bring the healing touch to this world. My wish is for everyone to know and cherish their own healing hands.
Every month there is a “Mandala Get Together” in my art studio at my house. For a few months we have been making origami books from one large sheet of paper. Earlier in the day a dragonfly had a powerful impact on Karen Martinez so she created a powerful piece of art.
This is the second week of 100 days for Mandalas. The prompt and inspiration for these two weeks is BALANCE. Perhaps no symbol of balance is better than the yin-yang sign. A circle of completeness that contains the duality of life – light & dark – male & female – black & white.
Mandalas – 100 Days for Mandalas, word prompt. The word HOME was the one that took me a long time to really examine what is “home” was, is and will be.
Home is a place inside our hearts where we are at home with ourselves. Where we feel safe, nurtured and centered. Let this word inspire your life and creativity.
This two week period for 100 Days for Mandalas is about listening. Listening to what we normally don’t hear. Listening not only with our ears but also with our bodies and our souls. Listening by being open, open to receiving. Receiving with open hearts.
This is the third week of the third session of 100 Days for Mandalas. The inspiration for this and the following week is PAUSE.
My turtle mandala
I love to see and share the mandalas created during my mandala workshop. I am always amazed at what is created. Here are the rest of the mandalas that were created at the April 20th workshop.
Mandala by Lisa Pieper
This is part two of the encore of 100 Days for Mandalas. My last blog post tells the story of how Gail Haverdill sent this beautiful book of 18 Mini Mandalas a few days after the end of 100 Days for Mandalas. Here are the other mandalas in this lovely book.

MANDALA PROMPT – FLOW, RHYTHM, PATTERNS, DOODLING
Making mandalas is a meditative experience. It allows us to easily get in the flow, that space where time seems timeless […]
This beautiful mandala by Corlita Bonnarens is the inspiration for this week’s mandala prompt. As we enter the middle of 100 Days for Mandalas (today is day 47), […]
MONDAY MANDALA INFORMATION, INSPIRATION & MEDITATION
This week become aware of the living colors of life. Colors you see in flowers, in animals, in stones, in all parts of creation. Realize you are living color and the colors you choose in your creations are living colors. And to […]
This week bring an intention, or purpose, into the creation of your mandala. An intention is a thought and feeling about something that you would like to give attention. This could be a wish, or a desire for help with a […]
The main reason for the recent road trip to New Mexico was to experience The Mandala Center in Des Moines, New Mexico. What would it be like stay in this beautiful retreat center dedicated to personal and spiritual growth? Would it be as wonderful as the website photos and descriptions? My friend Kelly […]
I call these days lazy in that I sometimes work all day in my pajamas, don’t answer the phone, leave the dishes […]
Some days I need the beauty and quiet of holy places. One of the places that calms my soul is the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica.
I met Christine’s husband at Shaw Nature Reserve years ago. We went to a ceremonial prairie planting with Native American drums that sang to the seeds as they drifted to the receiving earth. Christine and her family used to live inside this magical place, and now have a country home […]
Monday was the new moon. A new moon is the time to plant intentions and wishes. Like seeds in the ground, or babies in the womb, they germinate and grow during this time of darkness.
My monthly mandala making get together took place on Sunday, the eve before the new moon. I […]
Last Weekend was the ending and non ending of the Sand Mandala for Peace created by the eight Tibetan Monks from Drepung Gomang Monastery in downtown St. Louis. The Mandala took five days to complete. The intricate and beautiful circular shape was build grain of sand upon grain of sand. It […]
The Tibetan Monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery continue to create the sand Mandala for Peace in downtown St. Louis at Macrosun. The beauty of the mandala emerges as the Monks carefully place individual grains of colored sand into the design. A special metal tool called a chakpur has a small […]
St. Louis is being blessed with a sand mandala for peace created over five days by Tibetan Buddhist Monks from the Drepung Gomang Monastery in Southern India. I attended the opening ceremony on Wednesday, the 24th. It began at noon and continued for over an hour. The eight monks created a […]
